So the fundamentals are strong, and more importantly they're fun
Okiba-Gang Shinobi Being able to force an opponent to discard two like a Mind Rot every time you deal damage puts a ton of pressure on them
Three generic, Tap, Sacrifice another creature: Draw cards equal to the sacrificed creature's toughness, then discard cards equal to its power
After all, there aren't many better feelings in Magic than top decking a burn (direct damage) spell to finish off your opponent just in the nick of time
